# Build Flying Cars — An X1 Racing Initiative > A race to accelerate personal air mobility — from the track, to the public sector, to the defense industry, to your garage. We're building AI-assisted, remotely raced eVTOL flying vehicles and recruiting the innovators, engineers, and builders who will get us there. ## About Build Flying Cars is Project Maximum Boost — an X1 Racing initiative. We pair human-capable remote piloting with an AI safety co-pilot to generate the real-world AI-assisted flight data that the advanced air mobility (AAM) industry needs to escape FAA certification limbo. The technology earns its way out from the racetrack into the public sector (emergency response, medical airlifts, infrastructure inspection, point-to-point air transport), into the defense industry (DoD tactical mobility, special ops insertion, combat casualty evacuation, logistics), and eventually into personal urban air mobility. ## Keywords remotely raced aircraft, AI-assisted flight, AI safety co-pilot, human-capable remote piloting, advanced air mobility, personal air mobility, urban air mobility, point-to-point air transport, eVTOL, hybrid-electric propulsion, flying cars, X1 Racing, Project Maximum Boost. ## Who we're recruiting - **Innovators** — systems thinkers, industrial designers, mission architects, regulatory strategists framing the category before it exists. - **Engineers** — hybrid-electric propulsion, AI safety co-pilots, vehicle dynamics, avionics, autonomy. - **Builders** — composites layup, CNC and additive fabrication, harness and avionics integration, final assembly. Motorsport and aerospace shop-floor talent who turn drawings into hardware that flies. ## Apply Submit at https://buildflyingcars.com/#apply with name, email, optional LinkedIn/portfolio, and a ≤250-word essay on the problem you want to solve in AI-assisted, remotely raced aircraft and why you're the person to solve it. ## Pages - [Build Flying Cars](/): Project Maximum Boost — apply to build AI-assisted, remotely raced eVTOL aircraft with X1 Racing. ## Links - Site: https://buildflyingcars.com/ - Parent company: https://x1racing.com/
